This week I have a particularly enterprising and practical spirit, so I decided to put it to good use for our website — and for the clear, organised information that we ourselves appreciate. The reason is simple: you've been asking us in messages how much our paintings, drawings and commissions roughly cost. We know you want to understand what materials we work with and what the differences between them are — so we decided to write it all down here for you, and send it as a link whenever you ask. So if you're here because of exactly such a link — welcome 😊 .
Our paintings — whether created on commission or for our own portfolio — fall into several categories:
Charcoal drawing
Charcoal drawing with oil
Acrylic painting with markers
Mixed media
Mixed media with oil
Oil painting

We draw and paint on archival paper — mostly acid-free 300gsm textured paper that will last a very long time, which is exactly why it's called "archival." Our favourite, however, is handmade KHADI paper — 100% cotton, with a beautiful texture and a wide range of weights. It takes colour exceptionally well and is designed to last for generations. And yes — once you see it in person, you'll understand why we love it so much.

We paint on 300gsm canvas stretched on a wooden frame, which comes in two depths — the "classic" 2 cm, or our favourite 4 cm "3D canvas." This deeper frame opens up a lot of possibilities — and we love to use them — which is why we often continue the painting onto the sides of the canvas too. It's a little gift for those of you who appreciate things that are thought through, made with love, and simply: beautiful 😊
.

For larger canvases (over 130 cm) we don't use a wooden frame — they travel much more safely when they can be rolled up and sent by courier anywhere within the EU and UK.
I personally also love painting on circular canvas — which is automatically stretched on a 2 cm wooden frame.
It's also possible to paint on wood, for example like this:

We both work with all of these materials and combine them freely. For our oil-based work we use Gamblin oil paints — an American professional-grade brand considered one of the finest in the fine art world. They have intense, largely natural pigments and exceptional colour permanence. They allow for beautiful depth and a "3D effect", and ensure the long-term longevity of the work.
Pricing may vary slightly, as some paintings require a great deal of time, "magic" 😊, deep reflection and personal maturation — time, distance and tuning in to what wants to be expressed in a given period of life. This applies mostly to our original portfolio work.
Take a look at my introvert studio diaries — they'll help you feel what creating means to me personally, and what a slow, yet beautifully transformative process it can be.
In works like these, everything the artist is going through is written into the painting — and at the same time they carry a deep transformative value, an energy held in the brushstrokes that expresses precisely what words cannot. Paintings created this way support the space they inhabit, transform it and give it spirit. They support the intention of the person a painting chooses.
From what I experience, I can say with certainty: certain paintings find their person — someone they have something to give and receive. In both directions.
That is why I love creating. It is magical, beautiful. And the process of its becoming is, so often, completely unpredictable. So if something has caught your eye — reach out through our contact form, or write to us at atelierovoart@gmail.com
We look forward to hearing from you.
With love,
